A familiar accounting workflow, prepared for structured exchange

Xero helps run the books. An ASP connects the e-Invoice.

See how Xero’s UAE e-Invoicing route is designed to work, what your team needs to prepare, and where Barakah Al Meezan can support implementation.

The moving parts

Three roles. One controlled process.

For e-Invoicing, distinguish your accounting software from the platform and service provider used to exchange structured invoice data.

Accounting

Xero

Maintain customers, suppliers, products, tax rates, invoices and accounting records. Xero’s UAE e-Invoicing feature supports sending and receiving e-Invoices through its published route.

Connection

Invoici

Xero’s global e-Invoicing platform. Xero’s current UAE guidance says to connect the organisation using your existing Xero login.

Accredited provider

ASP selected in EmaraTax

Xero’s current UAE setup instructions name Casim as the ASP option in EmaraTax. Confirm the account-specific onboarding steps, current provider scope and commercial terms before appointment.

A typical setup journey

Make the data ready before the connection.

Provider onboarding is only one workstream. The quality of your source records and the way your team handles exceptions matter just as much.

Review your plan and entity

Check your Xero plan, organisation setup, legal entity details, role access and relevant deadline. Confirm that the current UAE feature is available for your account.

Prepare source records

Review customer and supplier legal names and addresses, participant TINs, tax identifiers and TRNs where applicable, item descriptions, tax codes, invoice fields and credit note processes.

Connect and appoint

Open the Invoici platform with the existing Xero login and connect the intended organisation. Current Xero guidance names Casim for selection in EmaraTax; verify current ASP status, scope and commercial terms before confirming.

Test sending and receiving

Run representative scenarios, inspect structured invoice data and acknowledgements, and document how the team resolves a rejected or corrected invoice.

Current Xero route. Xero’s current UAE guidance says e-Invoicing is available through Invoici: connect your organisation with your Xero login, then choose Casim, the UAE Accredited Service Provider named in Xero’s setup instructions, in EmaraTax. Xero says e-Invoicing is included for Starter, Standard and Premium subscribers at no additional Xero charge and that tax data is reported to the FTA in real time. Check the live Xero interface for your organisation’s eligibility and completed production onboarding; confirm the provider’s current terms and fees in writing before setting your go-live date. Xero’s 25 September 2026 product update described an earlier pre-live test-network stage and is historical context.
Keep TIN and TRN in their correct fields. The Ministry’s mandatory-field guide identifies the TIN as the e-Invoicing participant identifier. For a Corporate Tax registrant, this is the first 10 digits of that entity’s Corporate Tax TRN; an in-scope person not required to register for Corporate Tax must register with the FTA to receive a TIN. The separate seller tax identifier uses the TRN for a tax-registered seller. For tax groups, use the entity’s own Corporate Tax TRN-derived TIN, not the group representative’s. Check every field mapping with Xero and the selected ASP before testing.
Responsibility map

Know what each part handles.

This high-level guide helps assign the right owner. Exact functions depend on the live Xero feature, chosen provider and your setup.

Choose with evidence

Compare the provider against your real workflow.

Use the Ministry’s selection considerations, then compare written proposals and demonstrations. Provider accreditation permits service; it does not tell you which provider fits your business best.

01 · Current status

Verify the exact legal entity.

Confirm the current ASP available through the Xero UAE onboarding route before appointment. The 2026 framework moved from preliminary approval to direct accreditation, so confirm any provider’s current standing and scope.

02 · Product and integration

Map it to your systems.

Ask how Xero connects through the stated workflow, what data is exchanged, which entities and transaction types are supported, and how testing, exports and future changes are handled.

03 · Data and security

Understand controls and access.

Review data handling, access roles, security controls, incident communication, continuity arrangements and any subcontractors relevant to your organisation.

04 · Support and service levels

Know who responds when an invoice fails.

Confirm support hours, response and escalation targets, onboarding assistance, operational notifications and responsibilities for unresolved exceptions.

05 · Total cost

Compare the full fee schedule.

Ask for onboarding, recurring, per-document, integration, extra-entity, support, minimum-commitment and exit charges in writing. Compare equivalent volumes and assumptions.

06 · Experience and scale

Check capacity for your next stage.

Discuss provider experience, geographic coverage, customer references, expected transaction growth, product roadmap and how service continuity is maintained.

For Xero users: Xero’s current UAE onboarding guidance names Casim as the provider to select in EmaraTax through the Invoici workflow. Confirm the live Xero instructions, the provider’s current MoF status and the commercial agreement before appointment. Read the Ministry’s Xero onboarding instructions and the provider service agreement.
Plan and provider charges

Separate the software plan from the ASP contract.

Xero’s UAE e-Invoicing page states that the feature is available at no additional Xero charge for Starter, Standard and Premium subscribers. Check current eligibility and plan terms directly with Xero.

ASP fees, connectivity, transaction usage, additional applications and provider terms are separate commercial items. Ask the ASP for its current fee schedule and service scope before making a selection. Barakah Al Meezan’s proposed advisory fees are shown separately on our pricing page.
Xero plan price changes from 1 November 2026: USD-billed monthly prices will be Lite $7 (unchanged), Starter $32 (from $29), Standard $54 (from $50), and Premium $82 (from $75). Xero says multi-organisation discounts will no longer apply. Confirm your own plan, billing currency and offers in the official Xero update ↗.
